I’ve really enjoyed my two all day beginners classes here. Dawn is a wonderful person and trainer and I’ve enjoyed meeting others including at the open day. The rooms are nice, bright and airy, there’s a very friendly welcome and atmosphere and I look forward to many more visits. So nice to be able to put cares aside and concentrate on learning new sewing things and chatting with new people. This is a happy, fun place to be! 🥰🌈👍

As an absolute beginner I was very nervous before starting my 2 day course .However it was fantastic , Dawn is lovely and welcoming , very patient , and encouraging . TheCamaraderie with other people on the course was great , and I’m really looking forward to taking further courses.

I attended the first ever class at Sew Confident Chorley when it first opened, and am a proud re-attender! Dawn is so patient, and so enthusiastic and I have seen the business grow with lots of additional classes that include crochet etc and not just sewing! The beginner class was fabulous and took me as a complete incompetent to completing projects and signing up for the quilted pouch class. My biggest limiting factor is having two young children who require my attention on weekends and evenings, otherwise I would be signing up for everything!

Lovely workshop space in the centre of chorley. All course leaders are helpful, friendly and really welcoming. The rucksack workshop was brilliant. I love what I managed to make and felt supported all the way through. I will definitely be booking on more sew confident workshops.

Thoroughly enjoyed the beginners quilting class. Paula is an excellent tutor and I am looking forward to attending the intermediate class and making many more quilts. I'm hooked!!

I recently attended a virtual arm knitting class over zoom (whilst in lockdown) with Dawn and couldn't recommend this enough. Dawn explained the techniques really well with 2 camera angles and her patient manner meant everyone was helped and we all produced a fabulous blanket in the class time. For anyone thinking should I give it a go.. Just go for it! I've now got family and friends asking me to make them one! I also think the zoom classes would be great after lockdown for people who can't get to the workshops due to other commitments or distance if they were to continue.

I really enjoyed the virtual arm knitting class! Dawn was a fantastic teacher and explained all the steps thoroughly and repeated any steps as needed. The video was clear and it was great to see what to do close up as we went along. I was so pleased with the quality of the wool I received and I’m very happy with my finished blanket!! I also think the class was excellent value for money as it included the price of the wool. I will be buying more wool from Dawn to complete more blankets for my family and friends and will hopefully be able to attend more virtual classes in the future.

A totally wonderful experience.I had absolutely no sewing experience, bar a couple of hazy memories of ruining some fabric in a secondary school Design Technology lesson. I have always wanted to learn but didn’t know anyone who could teach me and didn’t feel confident enough to try and learn without instruction. My best friend had attended the maxi class in Glasgow and recommended I look at their new online courses. I dithered for ages about which length of course to go for, before picking the maxi course. I’m so, so glad I did. Doing zoom calls meant I met other (lovely) people and got to learn and have support as a group. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and I was able to learn from the questions other people asked, as well as my own. There were also prerecorded videos showing you how to cut out your fabric and patterns before the class, as well as prerecorded videos so you could make things in your own time. These were recorded by Jenny and were amazing - so concise, easy to follow and great fun. Every time I found myself thinking “so does that bit go there?” I’d discover the next second in the video that she was explaining that, with a close up of fabric to camera, in case you needed to see it.Dawn, who did the live classes was AMAZING. She was so warm and friendly, knew the answer to any question thrown at her, remembered everyone’s names and checked in with people throughout the class. No one was forgotten about and everyone was helped. She was also phenomenally patient - which was something I was a bit worried about before I signed up. I managed every project we did and am so proud of my makes. Incredibly, it was Dawn’s first time running the online class which I never would have guessed with how easily/smoothly the classes went and how professional she was.The best thing about doing the maxi course remotely was that I got to keep all the videos sent to me. This means I’ve been able to make all the projects again and dip into the videos any time I’ve got stuck, so I can really practise and build my skills.I enjoyed the course so much that I upgraded my machine via Sew Confident when I felt sure this was going to be a long term hobby. It was sent quickly and I got a discount too. I also signed up for another class (which was also taught by Dawn) and learnt to arm knit a blanket from a 2kg ball of wool (yes, really). Let me tell you as someone who can barely remember her left and right it is staggering to me to have something draped over my sofa that I’m really proud of!Thanks to the Sew Confident team I have realised that I do have the ability to try new things and to learn hobbies that have always intrigued me but that I’ve assumed I’m not creative or mathematical or neat enough for. I genuinely have developed confidence! And I have already thrown myself into making new things. Next up: a skirt! I truly can not recommend the company enough and will be back for more classes - both online and in the studio further down the line. Trust me, spend a little extra for the big course, dust off your machine and believe in yourself and these excellent sewers!

This is my first foray into the world of sewing and it’s the best move I ever made. I chose the Maxi class and it’s been brilliant I’ve learned so much over the past few weeks. I sew with confidence and this is all due to my tutors Jenny and Dawn. I really enjoyed the zoom classes with Dawn. She explains everything so well and has the patience of a saint. She shares a wealth of expertise and knowledge about the subject and is very easy to relate to. Jenny’s YouTube classes are excellent and well prepared. I’m looking forward to the next stage of my journey and to hopefully go along to the studio classes after lockdown. To conclude I would thoroughly recommend the classes with Dawn and Jenny.

Thanks so much Dawn and Hannah for all the help in making this swing dress at Sew Confident Chorley. So lovely to finally get back again into the studio, which you have transformed to make it feel so safe and welcoming too. I loved the dress and so much appreciated the help and guidance in following the pattern and getting the fit right...I definitely feel I will be able to make this again at home now.I would really recommend this studio for anyone interested in learning as a beginner or developing in sewing...there are some fab courses 💕

As an absolute novice I am confidently sewing after 4 evening classes and have just made my first t-shirt at home! Dawn and Hannah are the most patient tutors and the items you make in the classes are fab! They also have lovely fabrics you can buy.

I attended the hand embroidery class. We had a lovely time learning all the stiches and starting my next project. Dawn was great and ran over anything we were unsure of. I felt the measures put in place for social distancing were great and I felt safe during our time here.

I have just done the beginners quilting course which was 3 hours. The materials were provided and it was a really enjoyable class. I wanted to try quilting with some tuition before giving it a go on my own, and this filled my expectations and more. Paula was a great tutor. Some basic machine sewing skills are needed but we learnt how to put a zip in and use various different machine feet. We completed a zip pouch each and I'm delighted with the result. I recommend this class

I purchased one of Dawn's virtual courses for my mother in laws birthday as something we could do together given the current circumstances. We had a fabulous night and made some beautiful blankets! Dawn was so lovely and friendly from the get go and made you feel really comfortable. I would absolutely recommend her 🙂

Absolutely fantastic class!!! Loved every second of it and Hannah is a brilliant tutor. Really enjoyed cutting the fabric pieces before the course and choosing my fabric choices. The bag goes together so quickly and easily, such a fab day and can’t wait to book another course. Thankyou so much x

Highly recommended especially the beginners classes I’d never sat in front of a machine before but I took too it straight away thanks to the amazing tutor Dawn. I’m now looking to get my first machine and I’ll keep coming back to classes as I experiment with my new found hobby.

Just completed a 3 day Beginners Sewing class which I thoroughly enjoyed .I made a tote bag, bunting, zipped bags and a piped cushion I never thought I would be able to sew,but Dawn is such a good tutor very patient and explains everything so well . The studio is a lovely environment to learn in and felt very safe and comfortable with the covid restrictions in place . I loved it soo much it helped to me to relax and totally switch off from everything else going on around and enjoyed it so much that my hubby treated me to a brand new sewing machine with the help of Dawn . I did the online arm knitting class recently with Dawn, she was so lovely, made everyone feel welcome and at ease, her instructions were clear and easy to follow, but it was no trouble for her to repeat or show something slightly differently. I've bought more wool since the class, and again she was so lovely to deal with. Highly recommend!

Just completed Craft Zero to Hero, a 3 week zoom course with Dawn and I have to say she was very patient and informative. As a previous non sewer I now feel like I have the skills to start my crafty journey. In 3 weeks we made a tote bag, bunting, a draw string bag, a make up bag, a brush roll up case, and a flange edged cushion. I have one pre recorded class left to do.I would recommend the course, you get all the tools you need to start your journey all you need is a sewing machine and an iron. Thank you Dawn 😁

I’ve finally taken the plunge to learn how to sew using a sewing machine. I’ve had the pleasure of being taught by Jenny and Dawn. Sew Confident has been fantastic and I couldn’t have asked for more for my first time as a novice. I was able to undertake the class virtually which has been a blessing for so many reasons. I would recommend Sew Confident to anyone wanting to take the plunge to learn to sew. I will be continuing my sewing journey with Sew Confident. Ive just learned to arm knit a blanket! I can highly recommend an online class with Sew Confident. We arranged a class just for us and it was such good fun, giving us the opportunity to learn a new skill with the support of Dawn. Great for anyone, no matter you experience of crafting, Dawn was patient and a great teacher and we all got the satisfaction of creating a unique blanket for ourselves.

I did the beginners weekend sewing class in October and absolutely loved it. Having never done any sewing before I was amazed what I produced over the two days, and Dawn was a great teacher. I've since bought a sewing machine from Sew Confident and I'm looking forward to doing more classes at Sew Confident in the near future. I highly recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed learning how to make a variety of styles of curtain tops using eyelets, pencil pleats etc. Would highly recommend, staff are very efficient, tutor Jenny was very experienced and shared her knowledge. I felt very Covid safe with screening, use of sterilised equipment, following all recommended guidance. It was great to be back. Can't wait for my next class booking.

Recently attended an online arm knitting class with Dawn. She was so patient and lovely we loved the class and ended up with two beautiful blankets. She sent us a copy of the class and full care instructions for looking after out blankets. I was a bit dubious about an online class as I thought i would struggle not being in person, but i could easily follow along and it made for a giggly happy afternoon ... the perfect antidote to lockdown blues. I have just completed my 3rd class; I now know how to make a patchwork quilt from scratch! The studio is a very calming and relaxing place to learn. Dawn, Jo and Ruth are all lovely and very patient tutors. If you are thinking about learning a new skill, this is the place! I will definitely be back in the future.
